Job Description: Responsibilities: The Drafter II develops complete mechanical drafts and electrical schematics from notes or sketches, existing equipment or fixtures, or detailed verbal instructions from engineers and/or technicians.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Generates detail drawings for fabricated parts from information provided by engineers or technicians.

Prepares equipment documentation packages according to BSC Quality system.

Prepares Bill of Materials / Parts Lists for the assembly packages.

Supports engineers and technicians to develop schematics (electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic) and integrates these drawings in the equipment documentation package.

Orders small parts from Machine Shop (internal or outside). Orders parts from approved suppliers for engineers and/or technicians.


Qualifications:
Minimum education: Completion of High school, G.E.D. or equivalent. Prefer Associate Diploma or Associate Degree in mechanical drafting with emphasis in CAD drafting.

Minimum experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience supporting engineers in preparing drafts and schematics from sketches, existing equipment and/or verbal instructions.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience preparing complete engineering drawing documentation packages, including parts lists or BOMs.

Experience in the Medical Device Industry or Semiconductor industry is highly desirable. Proficiency in mechanical drafting (layout, assembly, detail, schematics). Good use of dimensioning and tolerancing for precision mechanisms and assemblies. Good level of command of CAD software package. Experience with 3D modeling packages. SolidWorks is highly desirable.
Or, equivalent combination of education and experience required to perform at this level.
