Advanced technical support or technician lead for small to medium engineering efforts in the development of high volume, hand held, battery powered, highly integrated Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) devices.

Maintain compliance to approved design control procedures for product development in accordance with FDA guidelines as outlined by the ADC QSR.
Major Responsibilities: Assist in the advancement of BGM designs from concept to production including the following:
* Provide advanced technical support or lead small to medium teams of technicians and assemblers.
* Conduct or supervise the following:
- Ordering and kitting PCBA parts
- Building prototype PCBA
- Informal testing and evaluation
- Mechanical and Electrical Formal testing (i.e. DVT)
- PCBA bring-up and debug
- Failure analysis
- Mechanical prototype assembly and debug
- Mechanical part inspection and modification
- Electro-mechanical prototype integration
* Assist engineers with the following:
- ECO and BOM creation in Agile
- Document and schedule reviews
- Drafting reports (e.g. DVT Reports)
Education An Associates degree in Electronic Technology (ASET) or equivalent is required to have the necessary training to perform the required job functions. A Bachelors degree in Electronic Technology (BSET) or equivalent is preferred.
Background ASET or equivalent (BSET preferred) with 5 to 10 years technician experience supporting design and development engineering.

The following abilities are required:
* Fine pitch SMT soldering
* PCBA assembly and repair
* PCBA bring-up and debug
* Troubleshoot to the component level
* Formal testing (i.e. DVT)
* Failure Analysis
* Lab maintenance and support
* Mechanical assembly and modification of plastic and metal components
* Strong communications skills
* Familiarity with machine shop techniques and capabilities

The following is a plus:
* Medical device designs (510k or PMA)
* Low-power battery operated designs for high-volume production
* Processing ECOs and BOMs in Agile
* Design control for FDA compliance
* Understanding of design process flow and methodology
* Knowledge of EMC and ESD testing techniques
* Schematic capture using OrCad
* Strong documentation skills
* Machinist experience
