Engineer I- Research and Development

 

Our Ann Arbor, MI, location is seeking a entry-level engineer with 0-3 years of experience to assume responsibility of investigating, specifying, documenting, manufacturing scale-up, and testing for new development and enhancements of critical electromechanical medical devices that directly affects safety, quality and productivity with the end result of producing a better quality product more efficiently.  In this position you will participate with in-house and external contract team members in the areas of specification, design, and test of subsystems and systems, and perform assigned bench-top development and testing tasks.  This person will have the opportunity to interact with cross functional teams, while working with hands on lab activities, including human cadaver studies, and animal studies.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired:

 

This position requires a 4-year engineering degree (Biomedical, Mechanical, or Electrical) plus a minimum of 0-3 years' related to product design/analysis, with the ability to create and work from engineering drawings.  Qualified candidates must be familiar with ISO, IEC, UL, CE, GMP/QSR standards and regulations as applied to medial devices.  Experience with mechanical design and analysis tools and techniques is required, including Finite Element Analysis and CAD tools.  This person must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to multi-task.  Occasional travel may be required.  THIS PERSON MUST BE ABLE TO READ, WRITE, AND SPEAK TECHNICAL JAPANESE.
