This is your opportunity to join the team at our Vascular Closure unit located in Taunton, MA.
As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for directing, leading and managing a group of engineers on specific projects and initiatives. The group provides engineering support in the concept, prototyping, clinical evaluation, phase in and ramp up of new products from R&D or business acquisitions as well as providing support for the manufacture of existing products.
Major responsibilities include managing the seamless transition of new product development projects and product transfers to the manufacturing floor through the development of tooling, equipment and process design, documentation, validation and training. You will also support current product manufacturing and develop and drive major improvement programs in the areas of quality, output, yield or cost reduction programs on existing products.
We require a Bachelors degree or equivalent in an Engineering/Scientific discipline and broad medical device industry knowledge including knowledge of GMPs, FDA Regulations and ISO Standards. In addition you will need seven to ten years of product development, process or manufacturing engineering experience in the medical device industry. At least three of these years must be at a supervisory leve. You must have a strong track record of developing commercially successful products. You will need superior analytical skills, extensive project management experience, process validation expertise, the capability to apply advanced statistical techniques, superior communication skills as well as experience working in teams. Specific expertise in polymer processing, assembly, tooling and fixture design, coatings and medical device packaging are preferred.
