Entry-level Chemists!

Lab Pros, Inc. is looking for entry-level chemists to fill multiple openings in the South Bay/Peninsula area!!!

We are looking for quick-learning, highly motivated entry level chemists to work for a growing pharmaceutical company in the South Bay. Candidates will work as part of a team under the direct supervision of a Senior Scientist to carry out polymer-based organic reactions of new therapeutic compounds. Candidates will be able to work scientists of other disciplines within the team such as chemists, material scientists, and biologists.? We are specifically looking for individuals with little to no experience who are eager to learn new methodologies.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Synthesis of polymer materials using high throughput methods
Purify and determine basic structural characteristic of polymers
Program automates and insure proper execution of robotic procedures
Insure execution of synthesis plan in accordance with project timeline
Work closely with Analytical, Polymer Property, and Biology groups to insure adequate flow of materials across screening platforms
Participate in process development of lead compounds up to kilo-scale using in-house infrastructure
Keep adequate record of laboratory activities
Communicate results to peers and management on a regular basis

Education/Experience:
BS or MS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science
Entry level to 3 years experience in a research setting
Must have hands-on experience with basic analytical techniques (NMR, HPLC, GPC, etc.) as well as a good understanding of theory
At ease with computers and able to quickly master robotic software
Good written and oral communication skills
