Facilities Engineer

The Facilities Engineer will provide facilities maintenance and calibration services for Dendreon Corporation?s Seattle site. Responsibilities include performing and/or administering the operation, maintenance, and calibration of equipment and systems, as well as developing programs to ensure efficient and compliant management of equipment and systems. The position will also be involved in small project management and coordination.

The successful candidate will work closely with Facilities, Engineering, Validation, QA, and Manufacturing to ensure strict compliance with guidelines. This position will play an active role within the Facility Operations Department ensuring that we, as a team, meet the department?s and company?s objectives. The ability to manage relationships with other staff and contractors is critical for success. This position will be required to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge and practical experience of biotech instrumentation and manufacturing systems, building mechanical systems, and calibration.

Description: Monitor and document Facilities and Manufacturing operating equipment on a daily basis, troubleshoot and repair problems, and provide solutions for inefficiencies Ensure completion of preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment and building systems as established in department procedures and as required by regulatory agencies Participate in the on-call rotation. Complete emergency repairs as needed and be flexible to support mechanical related issues on a 24/7 basis or as needed Coordinate the services of outside vendors Assist in the ongoing development and implementation an ISO/IEC 17025 compliant calibration program, including creation and revision of calibration SOPs and data sheets Support CMMS (MAXIMO) administration of preventative maintenance and calibration

Requirements: Associates degree in EET, MET, or other appropriate technical degree. Significant experience may substitute for degree requirement Minimum of 4 years of hands-on facility maintenance and management, preferably in biotech/pharmaceutical Demonstrated experience with HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems Working experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo Strong knowledge of cGMP facilities and cGMP requirements Experience with coordinating and scheduling contractors Strong analytical and problem solving skills Must have attention to detail and be Quality focused Must be self directed and able to work independently, yet be a team player Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Products
