Field Service Engineers Boston & St. Louis

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

? Perform on-site field service troubleshooting, repair, installation and customer training as required.

? Perform technical phone and email support to customers.

? Accurately, clearly and completely fill out work order reports and submit to corporate on a timely basis.

? Responsible for timely return of defective parts to corporate.

? Responsible for the follow through and timely resolution of customer problems.

? Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM?s) as required.

? Apply appropriate equipment specific safety procedures, must ensure quality standards for equipment are met before handing over equipment to customer.

? Actively participate in feeding back field reliability issues to engineering and manufacturing.

? Participate as the expert in implementing new product improvements (upgrades, etc.) at site locations as necessary.

? Conduct customer Site Acceptance Testing.

? Build strong working relationships with customers and sales personnel to insure a high level of communication and satisfaction.



This position requires 70% travel (some International travel may be required)



Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate?s degree (A. A.) in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred; or equivalent combination of education and training. Five or more years of experience in field service, the assembly and/or testing of electromechanical assemblies required. Experience in supporting automation, capital/process equipment, and complex life sciences instrument/systems preferred. Strong troubleshooting skills, experience with PC/Workstation (and/or embedded software) controlled equipment. Skilled PC user and familiar with Microsoft Office. Attention to details, strong documentation and record keeping skills. Ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers, sales/marketing, engineering, and manufacturing. Must have a strong work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills.
