Job Description:

The Clinical Services Department is the clinical product development team for Walgreens Health Initiatives, Walgreen Co and Walgreens Health Services business units. This department is comprised of pharmacy professionals responsible for the development and implementation of patient care programs designed to be sold to employers, managed care organizations and the pharmaceutical industry. The Clinical Services Department performs health outcomes analysis of all programs with the goal of demonstrating the value of pharmacist interventions in optimizing the utilization of healthcare resources and in improving patient care outcomes. Leading the industry with innovative programming, current activities include Care Management, Concurrent Drug Use Review, Continuing Education and Pharmacy School Relations, Drug Information, Formulary Services, Medication Management, Medication Use Evaluation, Merged Medical, Health Outcomes and Research, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Retrospective Drug Use Review and Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Content.


Clinical Pharmacist responsible for facilitating the provision of formulary services to Walgreens and Walgreens Health Initiatives Account Teams and Clients. Managing multiple client-specific formulary programs and communications. Communicating and managing client timelines with internal WHI Clinical Staff.




Essential Skills:

Optimizes communication and education about formularies to internal and external WHI customers; Manages clinical and formulary services related to plan-specific programs and provides general maintenance of non-customized plans for assigned regions and clients; Works with formulary team to optimize management of client formularies and communication products (e.g., guides) by assuring plan-specific details and programs are developed, implemented, maintained and that QA is regularly performed and acted on; Works with internal and external customers to maximize formulary and program performance; Works with Drug Information Pharmacist and facilitates response to drug information to Sales; Works with Marketing and Legal to develop marketing materials for client formularies; Works with Team RFP to develop and maintain RFP language for formularies and programs; Works with Director of Professional Relations to develop sales strategy and sales materials for formulary programs and communication.



Qualifications:

Posses strong clinical pharmacy knowledge database; PharmD with Pharmacy Practice Residency or clinical practice experience preferred; Managed Care experience a plus; Demonstrated skills in superior relationship building across multifunctional business units; Strong skills in managing multiple projects with short timelines very important; Experience in Microsoft Office applications a must.
