HEAD OF HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY

Senior EH&S Executive, reporting directly to Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness, will provide expertise in the areas of health, safety, environmental control. Will set the vision, strategic direction and effective implementation of HES programs and systems and to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.

 

Will direct activities in the areas of Environmental Controls, Safety and Occupational Health for the Division. This responsibility also includes development, implementation, administration and/or monitoring of programs in the following areas; medical dispensary operation, medical cost containment, disability case management, employee wellness, employee radiation safety, licensing and monitoring, industrial hygiene, emergency management, occupational safety, and site HES compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

 

In addition the individual must possess excellent management and communication skills both oral and written in order to effectively interface with various levels of management, personnel and external contacts. The individual must possess managerial know-how including planning, organizing, integrating and coordinating HESissues on a Division basis. Must have the ability to partner with, challenge and influence Senior Management. Must be able to navigate effectively across geographic and division boundaries to develop and manage effective partnerships and teams to deliver performance improvement results. Ability to evaluate, synthesize, interpret and communicate complex information in an understandable, objective and persuasive way.

Ability to suspend judgement, through strong questioning and active listening skills. Ability to apply creativity to training and business solutions. Ability to set strategy and implement effective courses of action to impact operational effectiveness and efficiency. Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.

Requires BS/BA or equivalent of 12+ years of experience. Requires 7 years in a regulated environment with at least 5 years of managerial experience at a division or business unit level. Requires broad based experience in the areas of chemicals, safety, environmental controls, industrial hygiene, radiation, hazardous waste management, occupational health, technical training, cGMP regulations, cGLP regulations, state, federal and local health, environment and safety laws.
