Inventory Manager - Novartis

Position Duties: This position is responsible and accountable for managing all aspects of NAT U.S. finished goods inventory encompassing reagents, instrumentation and spare parts. In this role, the individual will be expected to establish key contacts and build relationships both externally and internally that will support Chiron's strategic objectives. This individual will be the primary contact with third party warehouses, NOVAD Finance, QA,Marketing, Product Support and Supply Chain Management on all issues pertaining to the effective management of finished goods inventory for Chiron Blood Testing. This individual will develop and manage continuous process improvements in all aspects of inventory management. Key responsibilities include:Managing all goods receipts with third party warehouses, interfacing with QA on product releases and completingappropriate inventory transactions within SAP.Physical and virtual transfer and movement of materials among various inventory locations, including identifying materials to be scrapped and/or expensed.Manage cycle counting and inventory reconciliation processes with third party warehouses and within SAP.Manage process for scrapping of materials and interface with Finance on forecasting inventory reserves.Manage process for handling instrument returns and refurbishments including interface with Purchasing and Planning.Periodic review and update of SAP Equipment Masters.Meeting/exceeding inventory management key performance indicators as well as supporting overall SCM team objectives.Primary contact for identifying, documenting and resolving finished goods inventory related events that pose a GMP compliance risk and/or business financial risk.Developing and implementing continuous process improvements that will enhance the visibility and accuracy of NAT finished goods inventory.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (preferred business or technical degree)APICS certification or progress preferred 7-10 years of experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical/medical device industries in supplychain management.Inventory/Materials Management experienceSome background in FinanceProject management experience. Demonstrated knowledge of SAP. Working knowledge of MS office components: Excel, MS Project, and WordAmbitious, self- starter. Proven ability to work under pressure and with ambiguityHighly organized with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to focus on key customer needs.
