Laboratory Manger

Job Description: The laboratory manager will be responsible for the following: Training & supervision of a staff of laboratory technicians/analysts and a lab coordinator. Laboratory compliance to applicable FDA & ISO regulations (i.e. cGMP and ICH) . Establishment of SOP's for all aspects of the lab operations. Preparation of the lab budget and monitoring/reporting as required. Development & maintenance of a lab documentation system for all test results, instrument records, SOP's, test procedures, etc. Management of the lab operation including: balancing demand vs. personnel scheduling & assignments, performance & quality of testing methods & results, investigation & resolution of failures & nonconformances, interaction with key manufacturing & planning personnel. Calibration, preventive maintenance, and servicing of all instruments and ancillary equipment. Transfer of analytical methods from development into the lab. Experience in LIMS implementation highly desired.

Undergraduate degree in a related scientific field is required. Minimum of 8 years managerial experience. High level of technical expertise in analytical chemistry. Previous experience on testing material, component, and finished devices. Experience in lab management including responsibility for personnel, budget, and resource planning in a regulated environment, pharmaceutical, IVD, or medical device strongly preferred. Previous experience interpreting analytical test results to drive continuous improvement and corrective action activities as required. Experience in lab management in the operations side of a company preferred. Previous experience in monitoring production environments. Experience in chemical/polymer/coating technologies preferred. Strong interpersonal skills.
