Laboratory Technician (on-call)

Obtain, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and/or shipment.
Obtains body substances for testing in the approved manner. These substances may include blood, saliva, sputum, urine, stool.
Complete point of care (POC) testing per protocol (ex; urine pregnancy tests).
Process samples and prepare for shipment per protocol adhering to IATA / HazMat guidelines.
Complete all related documentation.
Ensure that lab area meets all CLIA and OSHA requirements.
Complete source documents per regulations and correct queries within 48 hours.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
Documentation of IATA / HazMat and Body Substance Precaution Training required (may be provided at hire).
Ability to lift 50 pounds. This position entails the risk of exposure to hazardous substances. Must be willing to comply with all requirements designed to reduce risk.
Excellent customer service skills required.
High School diploma or G.E.D.

Experienced phlebotomist, certification preferred.
Experience processing and packaging specimens.
