Lead Pharmacy Robot Technician

McKesson Automation is looking for a knowledgeable, motivated Lead Pharmacy Robot Technician to support the robotic automation solutions within the inpatient pharmacy of Aventura Hospital located in Aventura, FL.Current Need

The hours for this full-time position are 10:00pm - 8:30am with alternating weekends.Position Description

Responsible for learning the important terminology and components of the ROBOT-Rx and Packager functions. The ROBOT-Rx Lead Technician will provide direction and assist with supervisory responsibilities for all other ROBOT-Rx technicians involved in daily cartfill operations. This position carries the responsibility for the successful completion of all ROBOT-Rx and Packager daily operational tasks. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting problems and coordinating support when needed.

Act as a primary contact and provide direction for all ROBOT-Rx technician issues. Assist supervisor in the selection process when hiring new employees. Provide feedback to the supervisor on lower classified personnel?s performance. Act as a key contact on operational issues and coordinate maintenance of the ROBOT-Rx and Packager equipment. Proactively identify and address support situations that could jeopardize client satisfaction. Complete daily cart fill procedures including ROBOT-Rx dispensing, manual picks, medication returns processing and restocking online inventory. Work to streamline cartfill operations and maximize ROBOT-Rx efficiencies. Complete in-house ROBOT-Rx ready packaging for all medications not available from the wholesaler in a ROBOT-Rx ready format (i.e., UDL ROBOT-Rx ready medications), consistent with procedures outlined in the MAI packaging guides. Print daily restocking/repackaging report identifying drugs/medications required to be packaged to ensure that ROBOT-Rx off-line and online inventories are at optimal levels. Monitor inventory of supplies required for the operation of the packager (i.e., bags, foil, tape etc.) and notify staff buyer of inventory supplies to be ordered. Assist with the development of procedures, policies and guidelines for ROBOT-Rx operations.Minimum Requirements

Minimum two years experience in a hospital pharmacy or health care industry.Additional Knowledge & Skills

Good interpersonal skills; good mathematical, analytical and organizational skills; familiar with drug nomenclature; able to work independently; goal oriented.Education
