Position Summary
The position will primarily involve developing multiplex immunoassays for biomarker panels. The individual will become a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the integration of these immunoassays onto a state-of-the-art microfluidics instrument platform.
Duties & Responsibilities
Specifically, the candidate will lead an immunoassay development project and join a team of scientists engaged in similar activities. The immunoassays will run in a multiplex format on biochip arrays to detect human biomarkers for specific disease indications. Methodologies will include standard immunochemical, protein biochemistry, ELISA, and fluorescence scanning techniques, as well as image and data analysis. The individual will be expected to contribute to a dynamic team validating these biomarker panels for both internal and external investigators. The individual will also be responsible for working closely with cross-functional project teams and to meet projected goals in a timely manner. This is a laboratory position.
Major Responsibilities
? Optimize manual, multiplex immunoassays for biomarker disease panels using antibody microarrays.
? Transfer and validate these assays on an automated, microfluidic platform.
? Contribute to the development of generic assay optimization protocols.
? Analyze data using standard statistical methods.
? Interact with cross-functional production, engineering, and software teams.
Experience and Qualifications
? Master?s or PhD in immunology, biology, biochemistry, or related life science, with 3-5 years industrial experience, preferably in immunoassay development OR a Bachelor?s degree with 8-10 years relevant experience.
? Experience with biomarkers is preferred.
? Hands-on experience in ELISA development or other immunoassay protocols.
? Familiarity with antibody and protein chemistry, array technology, fluorescent scanning, human sample handling, and laboratory automation.
? Proficiency in computer skills such as spreadsheet manipulation, data analysis, and word processing.
? Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, flexibility/multi-tasking with attention to detail, teamwork, and lab safety are essential.
? Maintenance of clear and detailed experimental records under GLP working conditions
Salary and specific title are negotiable based on experience.
