MGR R & D

This position will lead a group to provide analytical research in support of projects arising from customer requests and regulatory requirements within the Pharmaceutical division.

Typical responsibilities include:

1. Manage group of analytical chemists including personal and professional development.
2. Manage laboratory systems for analytical group including: safety/housekeeping, cGMP compliance, DEA compliance, and equipment/supplies.
3. Organize and schedule the timely and accurate analysis of samples, including review of final data packets.
4. Coordinate laboratory efforts for method evaluations (e.g., compendial, customers), qualifications, and validation studies.
5. Provide testing in support of product characterizations both physical and chemical, examples include: HPLC purity profile, residual solvents, and particle size.
6. Provide analytical testing in support of reference material production and characterization/qualification (ARS and reference standards).
7. Train analysts in testing procedures as required.
8. Follow all safety guidelines.
9. Follow all DEA guidelines.



Requirements:

B.S. degree in Chemistry (minimum)
Minimum of six years industrial pharmaceutical experience
Proven supervisory skills
A good working knowledge of analytical chemistry principles
Chromatographic experience
Experience with personal computers and data acquisition software
Self-motivated, good work ethic, and goal oriented are expected behavioral skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with FDA regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical products
Good understanding of GMP principles
Must pass security clearance
