Maintenance Mechanic

Job Duties & Responsibilities
The Mechanic in the Production Maintenance Group is responsible for performing mechanical maintenance of cGMP production equipment that directly supports commercial and clinical drug manufacturing. The mechanic shall have the ability to independently perform a variety of routine tasks and tests of a technical nature. The mechanic must also be capable of solving most problems with little supervision. And knows when and how to get help.
?Skilled in the proper maintenance of mechanical seals, diaphragm valves, gaskets, pumps, agitators, autoclaves, glasswashers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and other equipment used in the drug manufacturing process.
?Confined space entry trained.
?Trained in safe hoist and lifting practices.
?Trained in LO/TO procedures.
?Skilled in the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and has a solid understanding of how to get information into and out of the CMMS.
?Strong written and oral communication skills.
?Is able to efficiently use GroupWise e-mail and IntraWeb Training registration system
?Perform day-to-day work assigned safely and efficiently.
?Perform work safely in accordance with site safety policies and procedures. Notify supervisor if continued un-safe practices are observed.
?Attend plant and technical training as required to stay current with assigned training requirements. Seek out training as required to stay current.
?Perform maintenance in accordance with SOPs, manufacturer's recommendations and good maintenance practices. Notify supervisor if when there are questions.
?Identify and recommend ways to improve work group efficiency and reduce operating costs to supervisor and help to implement agreed upon recommendations.
?Participate in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Safety task forces as assigned.
?Provide 24/7 on-call support for emergency maintenance.
Requirements
?High School Diploma or GED.
?3 years of mechanical maintenance of mechanical equipment and piping systems.
