Manager/Director- Analytical Services

Entelos, Inc., headquartered in Foster City, California, is a growing biotechnology company and the commercial leader in predictive biosimulation.  The company carries out pharmaceutical research and development using its proprietary PhysioLab? biosimulation technology to significantly reduce the time, cost, and risk required to discover and develop new drugs.  Much of this work is in collaboration with pharmaceutical and other biotechnology companies in the areas of metabolic and inflammatory diseases.  Founded in 1996 with the mission to apply simulation and decision-support technologies to problems facing pharmaceutical R&D, Entelos has evolved into the foremost expert in creating and using predictive model systems of health and disease in drug discovery and development.  The company employs life scientists with expertise spanning molecular biology to clinical medicine in fields related to metabolism, inflammation, and immunology and engineers with backgrounds in whole-system control dynamics, including chemical, electrical, mechanical, and aeronautical engineering.

Entelos is seeking a Manager/Director for our new analytical services group. The Manager/Director will report to the operational head of our in silico R&D department. This individual will be responsible for operations of the analytical services group, and participate with senior management in designing all aspects of its operations. He/she will also interface at both Senior Executive levels and with project teams within the organization.  Actual title will be commensurate with experience of candidate hired.

Responsibilities:Work with existing management/technical teams to develop standardized analysis "products", associated workflows, and templates for presentation-ready graphicsBuild and manage analytical services group to meet growing capacity needs of organizationOversee operations of analytical services group and ensure on-time delivery of analysis productsEstablish and implement QA practices within analytical services group for both analyses and presentation graphicsWork with software/informatics group to refine analytical tools to speed the efficiency and decrease the training burden of producing standardized analysis productsProvides project management direction and oversight for client related projects

The ideal candidate will have:M.S. in engineering or mathematics5+ years experience in a consulting/professional services organization building and managing an analytical services groupExperience managing a remote group of individualsDemonstrated expertise in Spotfire, Excel, SAS, PowerPointSkilled in managing in a matrix organizationExperience developing and mentoring staff Proficiency with project management tools and software Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with senior management, interdisciplinary project teams and subordinatesDemonstrated experience in managing external partnershipsAbility to work in a fast paced environment
