Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

* Degree in Pharmacy or related medical field; advanced degree(e.g.Pharm.D.or clinically oriented M.S.) preferred and completion of a residency or fellowship (preferably in clinical pharmacy) or equivalent expertise are required.

* Minimum of three years in clinical practice are required to ensure for appropriate expertise in the areas of pharmacology, therapeutics, written/oral communication and literature evaluation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsing to medical and scientific inquiries (e.g. written, telephone and electronic) received from health care professionals, consumers and BIPI personnel on marketed and investigational products

* Supervising Call Center Staff

* Developing and/or maintaining an extensive written database of standard responses by incorporating product specific information.

* Identifying, investigating and documenting spontaneous reports of adverse drug events (ADE)in accordance with FDA regulations and BIPI SOPs on all BIPI products.

* Participating in all aspects of medical information delivery during a product's life cycle including but not limited to participation: on medico-marketing team, in managed care, sales training and Regional Medical Scientists (RMS) activities, in the development of clinical product packages (e.g. Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)dossiers) and all product launch activities.

* Maintaining product and disease state knowledge by reviewing published and unpublished information and by attending relevant educational programs.

* Alerting Legal Deparment to ADE reports with litigation potential and providing appropriate literature reviews.

* Coordinating cases of combined ADEs and product complaints (PC)with PC staff to ensure a thorough investigation occurs.

* Contributing to discussions on labeling amendments, product extensions/modifications etc.

* Appraising appropriate departments of potential product-related problems or advantages.

* Participate in other product related activities including, but not limited to: sales lectures, preparation of monographs, review of educational materials etc.

* Participating in training of new professionals in unit

* Participate in the Unit's on-call service for after-hour calls

* Assuming ad hoc assignments when deemed appropriate by management.

* Assuming routine supervisory responsibilities in Director's absence
