Position Description:
Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Brand Teams in strategic and tactical decision-making efforts by using secondary market research and other available resources to track performance, understand the marketplace, and identify business opportunities.
Role Responsibilities
? Provide insights and recommendations to Brand Teams and management marketing for effective decision-making.
? Integrate different sources of information to address strategic and tactical questions of brand teams and management.
? Use market knowledge and research expertise to identify patterns within the data, construct insights and articulate actionable recommendations.
? Monitor market and environmental issues and develop metrics to alert Brand Teams when product performance may or is being impacted.
? Provide weekly and monthly reports of secondary performance metrics that enable marketing to track and analyze the performance of each brand and their competitors over time. Incorporate relevant data and findings from primary research, competitive intelligence, forecasting and other areas as needed.
? Provide ad-hoc and recurring secondary data reports and analysis to marketing and senior management as requested.
? Work with primary research and other team members to develop strategic market assessments and summaries.
? Work directly with brand teams and other support departments to identify key information needs and ensure needs are being met
? Evaluate and select appropriate data sources for analyses.
? Assist with team efforts to develop automated reporting and data management systems. Develop and administer report and document management systems to maximize accessibility of secondary, syndicated and primary research information.
? Work with Director to develop annual secondary research plan for assigned brands.
? Present research findings to brand team and senior management.
? Demonstrate required competencies on a consistent basis.
? Demonstrate company values on a consistent basis.
? Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
Education:
? Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
Experience:
SAS experience preferred.
? Experience in one or more of the following areas (or comparable) will be required:
- Primary and/or secondary market research in the healthcare industry
- Consulting to the pharmaceutical or health-related industry
- Analysis of the healthcare industry for a financial or similar organization
. Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical secondary research data
? Prior experience in other related areas, particularly in pharmaceuticals, would be beneficial:
- Sales analytics, forecasting, competitive intelligence, marketing finance, and others
Professional Skills:
? Strong knowledge of sources of secondary information and syndicated research for the pharmaceutical and health care industries
- Sales and prescription audits, promotional audits, physician-level data, patient-level claims data, pricing audits, medical practice audits, and other sources.
? Familiarity with market research techniques and working knowledge of statistical principles
? Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and general healthcare and/or consumer marketplace.
? Broad in-depth understanding of secondary data sources (IMS, Verispan, etc.).
? Ability to function independently in a brand team environment, exercising judgment to identify problems that require feedback from other team members.
? Must take ownership of research and communication of results to brand team.
? Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions for routine day-to-day issues.
? Strong technical knowledge of advanced market research techniques.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Proven analytical abilities.
? Ability to work across organizational lines and structures.
? Proficiency with desktop software applications (e.g., MS Office) and ability to use data management tools.
? Familiarity with database management issues and ability to interact effectively with systems managers.
