Position Responsibilities:

?  Plan and design manufacturing processes in a medical equipment manufacturing environment. Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization. Determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification based on lean principles.

?  Evaluate new projects, perform feasibility studies and monitor existing manufacturing engineering projects or programs on the basis of minimizing cost while maximizing internal customer satisfaction.

?  Ability to teach, demonstrate and implement lean tools such as:

o  Value Stream Mapping

o  5S

o  Standard Work

o  Mistake proofing

o  Kanban

o  Visual factory

o  Pull Systems

?  Ability to organize and lead kaizen events, including training.

?  Research manufacturing defects and implement process improvements.

?  Solid knowledge of job floor control methods and ability to implement new systems based on visual factory and ?pull? concepts.

?  Ability to create shop floor layouts based on above concepts.

?  Provide input to design engineering on product manufacturability from basic assembly as well as lean manufacturing viewpoints.

?  Facilitate and ensure individual and team roles and responsibilities are understood; performance measurement objectives are identified, measured and monitored on an on-going basis in order to provide positive feedback on accomplishments and to ensure immediate action is taken to address shortfalls.

?  Knowledge of GMPs and or experience with a regulatory agency is preferred but not required.

 

Education / Experience Required:

The successful candidate will be a self-starter and will have a solid lean background and have demonstrated the ability to lead manufacturing engineers. The candidate must possess at a minimum, a BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or similar sciences plus 3-5 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience. The selected candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be an accomplished PC user and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees. Candidate must also be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and possess a can-do attitude.
