Marketing Communications Leader needed for Medical Devices

Responsibilities:
In this role you will have the opportunity to plan and execute all of the marketing communications programs for a line of innovative medical devices for the treatment of neurological disorders. The cutting-edge nature of the technology means that there is no significant direct competition, so the business challenge is to expand an immature, under-developed market. Your assignment will be to develop communication plans that increase the referral rate of appropriate patients from medical Neurologists to Neurosurgeons for evaluation as candidates for device implantation. This is a creative challenge that requires close collaboration with the brand teams to assist in the strategic planning process. It also requires the ability to conceive of new ideas and a willingness to implement them.
You will manage a small team of 2-4 direct reports who are responsible for the tactical execution of the communication plans. Among other things, your team will be responsible for identifying the barriers that prevent both physicians and patients to consider device therapy. You will test promotional messages designed to overcome those barriers and make recommendations to the brand teams regarding sales aids, journal ads, media buys, trade shows and direct-to-consumer advertising. You will manage a budget and be responsible for training and development of your staff. The majority of the work will be for the U.S. market, but you will also help develop the global brand strategies.
The successful candidate will have:
? 6+ years of Marketing Communications or Advertising experience,
? 3+ years working either directly for a medical products manufacturer or for an Advertising Agency that specialized in the medical industry (device, pharmaceutical, diagnostics or related segments)
? Strategic planning experience that includes support of brand / product teams
? Some supervisory experience in a professional setting
? Bachelors degree or better
