JOB PURPOSE

Dharmacon is the market leader in a dynamic and rapidly evolving life science research and drug discovery market. Dharmacon?s Marketing Manager is responsible for evaluation of market conditions, competitive strategies, technology evolution and corresponding strategic opportunities. The Marketing Manager uses this information to develop and execute global strategic and tactical marketing plans to meet overall organization objectives, revenue and income targets.  The Marketing Manager oversees the company?s product management, direct marketing, tradeshow, and public relations activities.

MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES



Product marketing - Assessment of potential market, market dynamics and competitive analysis- Work closely with other departments to coordinate technical product development and strategic collaboration activities.

Public relations - Direction of brand management and development of marketing collateral and direct marketing activities- Financial management: budgeting, analysis, forecasting and profitability, develop and manage yearly budget for all areas of responsibility.

Manage product pricing and positioning - Direct sales force product training activities and Develop sales support materials.

Manage division branding and trademark activities - Work closely with management team to assist with evaluation of technology and new product ideas.

Excellent presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills are required.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED/DESIRED

This position requires prior experience managing a marketing team in a life sciences research, genomics, molecular biology or related field. Personal experience as a Product Manager in a Life Science tools company.  B.S. or equivalent plus at least 5 years marketing experience in the life science field with 2 or more years direct experience managing product management and marketing communications staff. Two or more years of hands-on life science laboratory experience, direct sales experience in life science research market desired but not required.
