Medical Device Sales Consultant - New York

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

This position is responsible for achieving the sales expectations of the assigned territory. Success is realized by building strong customer relationships, conducting consultative sales calls, utilizing solid product/technical knowledge, following a targeted call plan, and developing a solid territory plan. The keys to success listed here will lead to identified candidates for VNS, which this person will need to educate and assist through the various phases to implant. This position is also responsible for the selling product into hospitals and supporting surgical cases where appropriate.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

? Achieve or exceed sales objectives and be accountable daily for territory.
? Conduct consultative sales calls on neurologists, leading to patient identifications.
? Create surgical capacity appropriate for patient demand.
? Develop solid territory business plans in a short sales cycle/quota-based system.
? Educate patients and pull them through to implant.
? Utilize case management and the PRM process to aid in pull-through
? Build solid customer relationships.
? Demonstrate outstanding product knowledge.
? Implement routing/targeted call plan.
? Complete administrative requirements on time and accurately.
? Maintain company standards involving ethical and moral character while professionally representing the company.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

? Strong work ethic, with a resilient results orientation
? Minimum 3 to 5 years of successful selling experience in a medical field, preferably in a consultative role (e.g. Neuroscience Sales, HIV Sales, Oncology Sales, Diabetes Nurse Educators), where daily accountabilities are established, measured and rewarded
? Demonstrated aptitude and success in fostering solid, value-based physician relationships, and a capacity for interacting with patients in a clinical environment
? Solid process orientation, demonstrated resource management / allocation experience, and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
? Intellectual capacity to interpret trends and data, translating the information into actions and improvements
? Self starter and independent thinker, with the aptitude to work autonomously
? Robust interpersonal skills, with evidence of teamwork and collaboration
? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with customers and patients at all levels
? Creative thinker and risk taker
? Demonstrated commitment towards Cyberonics? mission
? BS/BA degree, preferably in life sciences, nursing, allied health, or business


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

? This position may require extensive business travel dependent upon geograpic requirements.
