Medical Director

SOS provides various medical affairs functions to the pharmaceutical industry.  SOS is currently looking for a Medical Director to work on site for a major pharmaceutical company.

 

The Medical Director will provide strategic planning, resourcing scientific and clinical oversight in support of the commercial strategies for the compounds within a specific therapeutic area (namely GI). The Medical Director will provide medical input into the long-term vision and growth strategies for the compounds within this portfolio while leading and directing medical responsibilities by providing scientific insight and development of strategy for the given compound (s). The Medical Director will develop and maintain relationships externally through Advisory Boards, Professional Associations and Meetings, Trade Exhibits, etc, to achieve client?s scientific objectives.  This position will interact internally with senior level management requiring negotiation to guide the overall activities of and manage the budget for the specific compound (s) and therapeutic area.  When requested, the Medical Director will provide input to confidential New Business Development opportunities within the therapeutic area of expertise and provide support for departmental initiatives to further the client?s business.

 

Title: Medical Director

Location: Illinois

Education: MD with either industry or clinical/academic research experience in GI
Experience: 10 plus years experience with clinical research, practice, or academia. Publication activities, congress presentations and public speaking experience required. Board certification in GI and life cycle management experience preferred
Therapeutic Area:  GI/Internal Medicine

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
