This is done by conducting scientific / clinical exchange with opinion leaders on a peer-to-peer level, regarding TAP's marketed products and scientific exchange regarding disease states in areas of upstream products. The MERL must possess in-depth knowledge of TAP's marketed products, upstream products and all associated disease state areas. The MERL will support the development of new markets for drugs in clinical development and facilitate communication between the medical community and across TAP's R&D department as well as the Marketing Department.

The Sr. MERL is the level for an experienced Medical Education (Science) Liaison who has demonstrated proficiency at the position and has mastered a majority of the skill sets necessary to succeed and serve as a role model to less experienced MERLs. In addition to the duties expected of a MERL, the Sr. MERL mentors his/her team members to become the preferred educational liaison and partner for all Health Care Professionals (HCPs). Though his/her knowledge and expertise in clinical development, the Senior MERL earns the respect of and partners with Investigators wishing to initiate IIR studies. Sr. MERLs will actively train the trainers of sales representatives and others within R & D as well as marketing.

The Sr. MERL may focus on Institutional Markets, covering KOLs in such areas as Hospitals, Medical Schools, HMOs, PBMs, and other MCOs as well as Professional Associations. The Sr. MERL may also manage the competitive intelligence activities across the Medical Affairs field team operations.

The therapeutic area this position is within Metabolic Disorders.

The territory for this region will include the Northeast region. We are looking for an individual to work out of a home office within Pennsylvania or New York.
