Mgr., Contract Development

Biovail Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company, engaged in the formulation, clinical testing, registration, manufacture and commercialization of pharmaceutical products utilizing advanced drug-delivery technologies.

 

Purpose of Position: Provide Contract Offer Development support for all market segment (Commercial, Government, GPO) client types during Managed Market client engagement process, functionally requiring comprehensive knowledge of MCO environment and client specific understanding.

 

General Functions/Specific Responsibilities: Market/Client current market analysis, leading research efforts and utilizing information resources to maintain up to date market awareness and trends within the MCO landscape.Provide Client/Field Team support pre and post contracting cycle to include strategic direction and alignment of client and Biovail needs.Opportunity Assessment of potential MCO agreements with emphasis on reviewing client supplied utilization information and producing projections, developing offer scenarios and providing financial impacts and measures.Contract Language/Template Development to include terms and conditions, partnership elements and legal review.Support Managed Markets Field Team with client engagement aspects to include Offer Proposal delivery to clients and negotiation support and periodic business reviews.Support the Business Development and Product Franchise teams within Biovail with payer perspective and guidance on reimbursement issues.

 

Requirements for Position: Knowledge:  Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry pricing and contracting practices and corresponding insight into MCO organizations and their pharmacy benefit designs and structures.Education:  BS/BA degree in finance, accounting, marketing or related field.  MBA preferred.Experience:  Prior experience in managed markets contracting essential, with exposure to Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, GPO and other federal markets.Skills:  Strong analytical skills required with ability to manage large volume data sets through desktop software (excel, access, etc.).  Ability to define and present supporting rationale to MM Field Team, other department personnel and Clients.  Strong Presentation and Communication skills required.

Working Conditions: This role is performed within an office environment with some travel required.
