We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated person to manage and operate our validation services laboratory.  In addition, the individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining a cGMP laboratory.

 

 

Position Summary:
The Microbiology Manager is responsible for planning and executing validation studies in support of product line business. The Microbiology Manager will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a cGMP Microbiology Laboratory.  The individual will be an active member of the Rapid Detection Systems team and report directly to the Director of Global Scientific Affairs.

 

Lab Based Technical Responsibilities:

?  Ability to work with limited supervision and work with others in order to accomplish tasks

?  Keeps accurate records of activities and results in a laboratory notebook

?  Familiar with preparing and following SOPs

?  Ability to maintain/prepare equipment, media and cultures used in microbiological testing

?  Ability to perform analyses associated with validation studies

?  Ability to compile, analyze and interpret results

?  Knowledge of ATP bioluminescence a plus

?  Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and data analysis

 


Education/Experience and Functional Competencies:

?  A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University (microbiology, biology or biochemistry preferred)

?  At least one year experience managing a cGMP laboratory

?  Knowledge of cGMP and validation plans

?  Experience with diagnostic procedures in general microbiology with excellent aseptic technique

?  Thoroughness and attention to detail

?  Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills

?  Excellent planning and organizational skills
