Microbiology Technical Support Representative (English/Mandarin)

Using its proprietary enzyme technology, the Company is the world leader in providing diagnostic testing systems for the rapid detection of microbial contamination.  This division?s customer base includes many of the world's leading pharmaceutical and consumer product companies, and its testing systems ensure the safety and quality of products bound for consumers.

 

In addition to ensuring product quality and safety for consumers, the Company delivers substantial cost savings to their customers. By reducing the time it takes to test and release raw materials and finished goods to the market place, the Company?s products facilitate increased manufacturing productivity through a reduction in working capital and increased supply chain efficiency.  Technical and Laboratory Support are integral components of the Company?s business growth.

We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated person who has the ability to travel (approximately 50% of the work week), based from the Company?s Chicago office.  The candidate must be bilingual (English and Chinese).

 

ONLY CANDIDATES THAT ARE FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND CHINESE, PREFERABLY MANDARIN, WILL BE CONSIDERED. 

 


Customer facing responsibilities:

-  Instruct users in use of microbiology equipment.

-  Provide training and technical support for customers, distributors, and personnel. 

-  Must have ability to build and manage customer relationships via regular travel.

 

Account management responsibilities:

-  Assist new accounts through the validation process of comparing traditional methods to the Company?s rapid method.

-  Increase sales of reagents by identifying growth opportunities.

-  Provide telephone and on-site support for new customers and prospects, including application information/trouble-shooting.

-  Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems.

Lab based technical responsibilities:

-  Provide validation support; analyze customer validation data, and validation plans.

-  Participate in product/application evaluations and product performance work.

-  Run and troubleshoot instrumentation, reagents and system software.


Education/Experience:

-  Bachelor's degree (microbiology, biology or biochemistry preferred).

-  At least 1-2 years experience/training in a lab or QC role and/or experience/training with writing/executing validation plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs). 

-  Experience with diagnostic procedures in the food, pharmaceutical, and or cosmetic industry. 

-  Ability to interact with various manufacturing settings/audiences.  Knowledge of regulations affecting our markets and/or rapid microbial methods will be highly regarded.

-  Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
