Job Description
Maintains the servers in the Wide Area Network (WAN), which includes monitoring event logs, hard drive space, and other issues with all servers; sets up and disables network accounts; secondary to data backup and restoration procedures; maintains anti-virus updates on all servers and notifies PC department of workstations not getting updates; helps senior systems administrator and network management in project planning completion of project tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Monitors and reports event logs, hard drive space (SAN environment) and hardware for all servers; optimizes exchange servers at least twice a year.
? Updates the antivirus systems for the servers, workstations and e-mail servers and updates PC manager of workstations that are not being updated.
? Assists with backup and restoration procedures for data.
? Stays apprised of any new upcoming viruses through research with vendor?s information or Internet alerts.
? Disables all accounts upon notification.
? Cleans all accounts, home directories and mailboxes from the network after 30 days of disabling. Sets up new servers according to installation specifications.
? Investigates any network issues concerning the servers.
? Writes IA?s for server hardware and initiates change controls; initiates SOPs or edits existing documents to stay current with changes.
? Works with vendor helpdesks for troubleshooting methods on company servers.
? Places orders for software updates as needed.
? Ability to travel, work overtime on weekends, or nights as required.


Essential Skills
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
