Pharmaceutical District Sales Manager
District Sales Manager - Empire District (Supervising 7-10 Territory Sales Reps)
Note: Preferred location of position is in the New York City area. (No Relocation paid)
Job Summary:
Leads, staffs, manages, and empowers a high performing sales team, dedicated to building customer partnerships and achieving sales and marketing objectives. Fosters an environment where a commitment to quality, innovation and responsiveness to rapidly changing market conditions is the norm. Manages assigned district in accordance with marketing plans and company policies to increase the sales of Ferndale Laboratories products. Acts in concert with sales, marketing and operations teams to assure execution and results are achieved. Supervises territory representatives (7 - 10)
Essential Functions:
? Responsible for the attainment of annual sales and budget objectives for district.
? Creates an environment conducive to high standards, teamwork, innovativeness and quality.
? Provides training and directs the ongoing development of district?s sales team, maximizing sales execution and long-term manpower needs.
? Recruit, hire and maintain a high quality, diverse group of sales professionals
? Communicates responsibly and proactively throughout the organization. Identifies and acts on problems and opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance productivity.
? Utilizes data resources and other planning tools to assure appropriate customer coverage and balanced promotional emphasis. Focuses financial and personal resources on key opportunities.
? Coordinates, develops and manages a strong working relationship throughout the sales and marketing team. Assesses and provides input on markets and competitors as well as Ferndale promotions and programs to enhance execution.
? Effectively manages sample strategy and complies with Federal guidelines relating to the Dingell bill and company policies.
? Assist in planning and executing sales meetings.
? Maintains high personal standards for professional growth and skill development consistent with the role of a business leader.
Requirements:
The qualified candidate must have: Bachelor Degree; 2 years experience managing a pharmaceutical or biotechnology Sales Team and 5-7 years total experience in pharmaceutical Sales; Comprehensive knowledge of the customers and the markets we compete in; Willingness to travel and maintain a rigorous schedule; Experience in appraisals/assessments and the development of field-based personnel; Excellent broad-based communication skills: ability to utilize verbal, written and group presentation forums in an appropriate and highly effective manner; Strong organizational, scheduling, planning, and prioritizing abilities; Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments; Ability to identify/select high quality personnel for pharmaceutical sales positions; Creativity, risk-taking, and depth of thought that leads to quality decisions and problem solving on complex business issues; Ability to interface with all customer types.
