Pharmaceutical District Sales Manager Birmingham
District Sales Manager (DSM) position for the Southeast:
The DSM is expected to provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction to Field Sales Representatives (FSR) in order to achieve assigned performance objectives; this will be accomplished by guiding FSRs to achieve field workday requirements through effective coaching, mentoring & utilization of resources aligned with organizational vision and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Coach and model the Conversational Selling Process, including Pre-Call Planning, and Post-Call Analysis;
? Coach and model the Relationship Building Process, including Pre-Call Planning, and Post-Call Analysis;
? Identify, interview, hire, train and develop candidates with a proven track record of sales success to build a highly productive sales team;
? Coach district members to be effective sales associates who consistently achieve company goals and objectives. This will be accomplished by observing FSR interactions with key customers and providing them with appropriate individual coaching, feedback and inspiration;
? Continuously seek opportunities to raise awareness and gain insight into the strengths and developmental needs of each team member.
? Assist FSRs with ongoing career development for success in both current and future roles within the organization;
? Work collaboratively across functional areas by serving as a resource within the district and by leveraging the collective expertise of FSRs;
? Prepare a variety of status reports including: call activity, monthly sales trending, monthly status report on attainment of individual and district goals, ranking of district members on all corporate measurement parameters, reports on special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activities;
? Routinely monitor all tracking reports to identify and reward desired behavior while identifying potential performance issues early enough to implement corrective measures;
? Prepare developmental POAs for each district member for their continued growth and development in all key areas including Centrix Selling Skills, territory business plans and attainment of company and district objectives. POAs should set forth specific steps and timelines for ongoing improvement and/or corrective intervention whenever needed;
? Assume responsibility for redirecting efforts as needed to deliver high quality productive work from self and others in accordance with management directives;
? Identify strategic business opportunities, and assume accountability to achieve standards of excellence aligned with work unit and/or key corporate objectives;
? Insure proper utilization of all sales tools (e.g., selling aids, marketing programs, etc.);
? Monitor and allocate promotional funds to each district member based on sound business decisions;
? Adhere to proper sampling practices as per Federal legal requirements;
? Model professional behavior and conduct at all times;
? Follow and maintain established corporate guidelines regarding professional dress and code of conduct.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? Four year college degree or equivalent (preferably in Life Sciences, or Business related discipline).
? 3 or more years of documented pharmaceutical sales experience with at least two years of pharmaceutical sales management experience is preferred. However, documented track record of consistent sales success plus field training experience or other additional district responsibilities will be strongly considered.
? Expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
? Willingness to travel by auto and air up to 60% depending on needs of assigned geography, and must live in a major city that is acceptable to management within the Southeast.
