Job Description:

Walgreens Health Services is the managed care division of Walgreens providing pharmacy benefit management, home care, mail service pharmacy, and specialty pharmacy services. Essential Skills:

Perform disease state review, monitoring drug compliance, and providing on-going patient counseling, including dosing and side effect management; Clinical reviews of prescriptions to assure appropriate patient therapy including, proper product selection, storage and stability considerations; Professional interaction with case managers and other health care professionals; Perform patient assessment to categorize as high, medium or low risk of noncompliance with drug therapy; Contact physician when necessary to communicate patient alerts and to gather clinical data; Maintain patient files and document interactions and clinical discussions with patients and other health care professionals; Review and record related laboratory data, patient diagnosis, and ICD-9 codes in Specialty pharmacy system; Document side effects and adverse drug reactions, reporting them to physician and the FDA when appropriate.



Qualifications:

BS or PharmD from accredited college of Pharmacy; State of Ohio Pharmacy license; Need to be self motivated, possess strong interpersonal and computer skills; Ability to problem solve and to multitask; Prior experience in case management, Managed Care or with the disease states HIV, Hepatitis, Growth Hormone, RA, Transplant or Hemophilia preferred; Call center experience preferred but not required.
