Axcan is seeking a Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) Business Unit Manager. Photodynamic therapy, a treatment now being used in patients with certain types of cancer and High-Grade Dysplasia (HGD) associated with Barrett?s esophagus, uses a combination of a photoactive drug (a drug that is activated by light) and light from a laser. The primary responsibility of the PDT Business Unit Manager is to successfully implement sales and marketing plans, achieve or exceed sales goals for volume and profitability, manage field sales representatives and expenses in the PDT Business Unit. The PDT Business Unit Manager must demonstrate strong management skills in planning, organizing, problem solving, leadership, coaching and counseling, excellent oral and written communications and an above average ability to effectively interface with others.
Requirements include but are not limited to the following:Bachelor?s degree from a four-year accredited university or college, master?s degree preferredMinimum of four years successful pharmaceutical / medical sales management in a hospital / institutional setting experience required Excellent understanding of capital equipment sales Requires strong financial business acumen to evaluate, analyze and communicate to hospital purchasing groups ROI of using PhotofrinProven ability and willingness to lead and work effectively with others in order to achieve organizational goalsAbility to remain focused on priorities, goals, and objectivesProven ability to influence others and maintain the image and behavior of a leaderAbility to accommodate approximately 70% travel by air and automobilePossess a valid driver?s license in the state of residence and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the CompanyProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
