Principal Scientist- Applied Polymer/Chemistry
Job Description:
Research and develop various processing methods in polymer chemistry for use in ophthalmic products. Conduct Process Feasibility Studies on new biomedical device materials (e.g. contact lenses, intraocular lenses, etc.). Support manufacturing for Process Chemistry issues. Interact / Collaborate with multifunctional groups: Synthesis, Surface Science, Process Development, Engineering. Conduct experimental designs (DOE, 6-sigma). Project leadership role/core team member in R&D projects. Draft and implement protocols.
Qualifications:
M.S./Ph.D. in Chemical/Biomedical / Polymer Engineering or Polymer Science. Experience Minimum 10 years in Polymer / Process Chemistry R&D of polymers, medical devices, including experience in polymer processes and characterization methods. Interpersonal skills known by group team dynamics and many levels. Demonstration of technical leadership through solving of problems, project managements skills, etc. Evidence of technical innovations exemplified by patents, records of inventions, etc. Knowledge of cGLP/cGMP, LIMS, ISO, Quality systems. Adept at various software: Office, DOE, ChemLab, MatLab.
