Process Development Scientist

Bayer BP is seeking for a highly motivated individual to join the newly formed pathogen safety department. She/he will be a part of pathogen safety team in developing and validating bioprocess technologies to support new drug application. This individual will be expected to have broad range of knowledge and experience in mammalian virology. She or he is expected to have direct experience in mammalian cell culture, virus assay and protein characterization. This individual will be expected to develop, validate and implement virus clearance technologies into biotherapeutic processes.Familiarity and experience with GLP compliance will be a plus.

 Experienced individual with a Ph.D. degree in virology or other biological sciences with more than 3 years, or a M.S. degree with at least 8 years of experience in the relevant area

 Skillful in virus assay design and operation

 Direct experience in biotherapeutic development and familiarity with in vitro model systems for evaluating virus removal/inactivation is required

 Demonstrated experience in protein purification via column chromatography, membrane separation (ultra- and nanofiltration) etc.

 Familiarity with protein characterization technique, SDS-PAGE, SEC-HPLC, UV and MS-mass spectroscopy

 Ability to work independently and supervisory experience are required

 Outstanding track record in academic accomplishments, good inter-personal and communication skills are essential

 Hands on and Supervisory experience is required

 The individual must function well as part of a project team
