Progressive Biotechnology Company seeks Molecular Biologist/Protein Chemist/PhD in Pathology

Job Purpose:

Design and synthesis of antigens for the development and subsequent production of monoclonal antibodies towards various cancers in humans.



Duties:

* Evaluates antigen design associated with various human cancers that is most likely to produce binding site to antibodies hosted in mice or rabbits.


 

* Antibodies are used in immunohistochemical assays on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections; therefore, familiarity with immunohistochemistry protocols and pathologic interpretation of stains is critical.


* Ability to identify and experience in collaborating with developers of antibodies to identify those that have clinical significance and to secure licensing agreements to produce and market these.

 

* Experience in operating and managing all aspects of a hybridoma laboratory whose purpose is to produce monoclonal antibodies with clinical value and therefore commercial importance.


 * Antibody purification techniques; proficient at aseptic techniques; proficient at remediation of contaminated cell lines.

* Maintains procedure integrity by adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), current good laboratory practices (cGLP), and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).

* Sets-up and operates equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

* Documents analyses by completing experiment logs and records.

 

* Prepares reports of laboratory results by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing biological data and trends.

* Maintains safe and healthy lab environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.

 

* Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR part 820 and ISO 13485 a plus.

* Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging trends in biological methods development; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional journals; establishing personal networks.Relating these activities to the field of pathology is a plus.


* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Hybridoma experience, antigen design and development experience, cGLP, cGMP, extensive knowledge of the biology and pathology of cancer, Immunohistochemistry Techniques, aseptic Techniques, Sterilization, Lab Environment, Analyzing Information, Scientific Curiosity, Reporting Research Results, Attention to Detail, Laboratory Safety. Ability to perform histology technical procedures a plus.
