Project Ldr II, R and D

Leads cross functional teams to develop and implement new medical device (preferably Access devices - LADs, Sets, etc.) products or product improvements to meet divisional goals. Applies a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by engineering disciplines toward the development of new or enhanced products or processes. Responsible for all project life cycle management for projects in various product development stages (e.g. exploratory, concept, feasibility, development, and launch - Baxter Product Development Process) from initiation, planning, execution, termination, and monitor and control (PMBOK) for each stage. Interacts and influences key external and internal stakeholders to successfully implement customer requirements and deliver on the objectives of the project and of the business. Accountable for overall project performance.

1) Manage a large scale medical device program or several small medical device projects with complex features. Independently plans, schedules and leads cross-functional team in detailed phases of the work in a project.

2) Identifies and works with resource managers to staff project(s). Establishes roles and responsibilities, monitors and controls team execution and performance. Participates in performance reviews and proposes team recognition activities.

3) Leads development and ongoing updates of project business case and program planning.

4) Manages project budget. May be a cost center manager and responsible for purchasing decisions within budget scope.

5) Leads and facilitates cross functional teams in applying state of the art techniques to develop new / improved products and processes.

6) Participates in supplier evaluation and selection, business contract negotiations, and supplier performance.

7) Appropriately manages and communicate risks and risk mitigations.

8) Anticipates, resolves or escalates project issues/problems in a timely fashion.


Qualifications
1. Project management experience with demonstrated application of PMBOK?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? principles.

2. Experience and demonstrated proficiency in an engineering field.

3. Familiar with Design for Six Sigma, statistical methods, problem analysis and resolution, design of experiments.

4. Proficient in medical products development.

5. Ability to work independently and in teams.

6. Demonstrates strong leadership skills.

7. Extensive cross-functional team experience, including technicaland program management / project management work.

8. Ability to organize and present project updates to the management and peers.B.S. degree in Engineering and 5-8 years of experience or M.S. inEngineering and 2-4 years of experience.2-3 Years Project Management Experience including experience in product development life cycles.PMP Certification DesiredDemonstrated success in delivering results on several technical challenges.Demonstrated success in achieving project objectives.
