We currently have an opening in our Project Management department for a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager. The description is below.
Essential Duties and Job Functions: (Primary responsibilities and accountabilities)
? Responsible for leading Anesiva?s drug development projects throughout the development and commercialization of the product.
? Provide project leadership to the drug development projects? Core Team and Subteam members.
? Manage product development by providing Project Core Teams and Subteams with project management expertise.
? Provide planning structure to cross-functional activities on projects, including activity identification, task duration, task logic, critical path identification and personnel resourcing estimation in support of the organizational and team goals. Ensure plans and timelines are integrated and complete:
- Integrate project activities from Core Team, subteams and functional departments into the overall project plan(s).
- Negotiate and assign task ownership with input from Core Team, Subteam Leaders, individual contributors and consultants.
- Clearly define go/no go decision points.
? Along with Technical Leader and/or Subteam Leader, manage ongoing project activities.
- Track project progress, monitor variances to project plan and adjust appropriately with team, manage to the critical path.
- Ensure continuing emphasis on satisfying project objectives and corporate goals during execution of current project tasks.
- Ensure quality decision-making through the identification and evaluation of options.
- Identify operational issues or conflicts and manage their resolutions.
? Perform risk analysis and proactively develop contingency plans.
? Provide organizational structure to the team, including facilitating communications and acting as team historian.
? Lead efforts to analyze current project operations and make recommendations for improvement.
? Facilitate information flow between project team members, functions, senior management and vendors.
? Utilize conflict resolution among team members when necessary.
? Follow established Anesiva standards and procedures to conduct project management activities. Comply with Anesiva Project Core Team model of Technical Leader-Project Manager co-leadership role.
? Participate with Project Management staff and members of the functional departments in designing, improving, and implementing elements of Anesiva?s Project Management process and systems.
Marginal Functions: (Infrequent non-critical functions)
? Provide management presentations on project status.
? Assist various functional departments in execution of project tasks.
? Collaborate with Finance Department and Department Heads on project budgets and budget forecasting by project.
? Collaborate with and provide alliance project management support.
Academic Level ? Requires a Bachelors/Masters degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent
Skills and Requirements
? Years Related Experience: Senior Project Manager 4-6; Project Manager 2-4
? Required: Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries. General PMI (Project Management Institute) project management knowledge. Experience leading and managing projects. Ability to work independently and with little supervision. Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and mentor others. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Team player attitude. Proactive.
? Desirable: Project Management Professional certification. Enthusiastic and high energy. Proven ability to manage by influence and to work with diverse teams. Able to provide project vision. Adept at juggling many competing priorities.
Computer Skills
Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office product suite required. Excellent understanding of MS Project.
