Summary Function

Position responsible for determining quality of raw materials and finished products using analytical methods and procedures as required.

Responsibilities & Duties

?Analyzes raw materials, intermediates and products by chemical and instrumental techniques in accordance with established procedures.
?Submits accurate, precise and complete analytical reports in a timely fashion; Communicates OOS results to QC Scientist; Audits the reports of colleagues.
?Exhibits a working knowledge of LIMS and Oracle database applications to maintain accuracy of records.
?Maintains an awareness of cGMP?s and cGLP?s and maintains compliance with those regulations; Documents all activities associated with cGMP compliance (i.e. instrument calibration, OOS investigations etc.)
?Demonstrates the ability to set own priorities based on operations schedule and deadlines.
?Interdepartmental communication with operations (Capacity Operators and Shift Leaders) concerning the use of materials evaluated.
?Performs special analysis and special project testing on a request basis.
?Maintains good housekeeping, order, and safety in the laboratory.
?Trains and develops as applicable to analytical testing in the Quality Control Department.

 Required Skills

1.Bachelors Degree in one of the physical sciences.
2.Prior quality control analytical lab experience including color science(preferred)
3.Must have experience with analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, data compilation, and USP/NF procedures.
4.Knowledge of cGMPs.
5.Must have organizational skills, decision-making skills, and communication skills.
6.Good working knowledge of PC?s including LIMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Position is for second shift

 Required Experience

Prior laboratory experience is desirable.

A working knowledge of cGMP requirements.
