We are conveniently located just 35 minutes reverse commute from downtown Denver and a 25-minute commute from downtown Boulder. 

This position will Support gene expression studies of siRNA off-targeting and miRNA targeting: isolate RNA from cultured cells and tissues, label and amplify mRNA, set up and scan microarray hybridizations, analyze microarray data, perform siRNA experiments, support siRNA-related product development.

 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and/or abilities:

 

?  Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers as appropriate to the individual laboratory

?  Proficient in tissue culture and molecular biology techniques

?  Familiarity with standard lab techniques and sterile techniques, including experience in working with RNA

?  Good analytical skills

?  Detail oriented

?  Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities

?  Good inter-personal skills

?  Good communication skills, both written and oral

?  Problem solving and creative scientific skills

?  Plans and performs quality and detailed laboratory experiments

?  Prepares and analyzes samples for laboratory procedures

?  Compiles and maintains data on results of analysis and communicates results to supervisor

?  Prepares reagents and chemical solutions

?  Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies

?  Maintains laboratory notebook and/or computer files and data bases

?  Participates and contributes at group and project meetings as required

?  Attends seminars as required

?  Summarizes and interprets analytical data

?  Designs, with supervisor, experimental protocols/procedures

?  Performs highly specialized procedures as appropriate to individual laboratory situations

?  May provide some guidance to Research Associate I or Lab Assistants

?  Willingness to learn and implement new techniques and procedures
