Job Description

This position is responsible for manufacturing product as required by the master production schedule and in compliance with Quidel?s Quality System Regulations.  Included are all production reagents, which form the kit components, from the raw materials through to bottled and labeled finished goods.  A key aspect of this job is the mastery of all plate coating equipment, processes and testing. Extensive interface with the product development team, primarily in protocol drafting and testing, as the product is transferred to production is required and other duties as assigned. 



Knowledge & Skills

This person must be technically competent in the production, testing and trouble shooting activities, which will support a medical diagnostic kit.  This involves the formulation of complex reagents and the associated testing to determine compliance to specifications. Direct experience in reagent manufacturing especially in the techniques associated with micro-titer based (ELISA) products is ideal.  As such, familiarity with a wide range of production equipment and strong math skills are a major prerequisite of the position.  Must also possess mechanical aptitude, as it relates to overall responsibility for complex processing equipment.  Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational abilities, flexibility, attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are also required.

Education and Experience 

Bachelor?s degree in the Sciences, with 0-5 years industrial experience in Medical Diagnostics in production, technical services or development.  Must be familiar with current GMP and ISO regulations and comfortable working in a highly structured, documented environment.
