Regional Account ManagerTerritories: Mid-Atlantic, Midwest & West
CV Therapeutics is looking to hire an outstanding individual for the position of Regional Account Manager to promote company products to managed care accounts/customers, integrated health systems, state government entities such as Medicaid providers, group purchasing organizations, and strategic federal accounts. Act as a liaison to Regional Business Directors in terms of segment strategy development, reimbursement, and Cardiovascular Account Specialist and Division Sales Manager support and training. This individual will analyze business opportunities for CV Therapeutics? products in relation to regional health plans; determine profitability of the opportunities; develop a business relationship with the above segment customers by understanding their needs and how our product line can fit their needs. Other responsibilities include: creating and implementing pull through strategies with our sales force to maximize contract obligations; organizing accounts by their ability to control market share and prescribing patterns as well as develop a business plan to maximize sales; and establishing and implementing managed care training programs geared toward the sales force to help them recognize and maximize pull through opportunities. Attend quarterly POA sales meetings and meet with sales management on a regular basis. This position will promote the company and our product portfolio in the customer segment marketplace by participating in educational meetings, advisory boards, and trade associations; promoting pull through of local and national contracts, including representative education initiatives, selling messages, and prior authorizations for CVT products. Participate in business plan development for regional area of influence. Manage regional government accounts and Medicaid associations as directed.
This position requires an individual with a strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and managed care in particular. A BA/BS in marketing or scientific field is required. Excellent communications skills combined with experience in government affairs and Medicaid preferred. A minimum of four years pharmaceutical sales experience of which at least two years include selling to contracted accounts such as hospital specialty sales, long term care or managed care accounts, and/or in a designated capacity as a ?pull through? specialist in managed care. Sales management experience is a plus but not mandatory. This position requires the ability to travel approximately 50% of time.
