Regional Sales Director- Western US

Our client is a cardiovascular focused biotech in San Francisco.  They are looking for an outstanding Regional Sales Directors with 5 years management experience to lead their Western Division salesteam.This will be a highly visible position with increasing responsibility in a cutting edge, pre-IPO biotech.  Responsible for all aspects of managing a team of Regional Account Managers in a multi-state territory.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

 



This position reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing. The primary responsibilities include: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit objectives, and manage the sale of the PLAC Test in a large specified domestic region.  Supervise the activities of other Regional Account Managers (RAMs) and other sales personnel within the region.  Create and develop infrastructures/sales metrics, required to motivate RAMs and ensure the attainment or exceeding of assigned revenue quotas through education, training and coaching of RAMs.  Build relationships with clinical laboratories sales personnel and pharmaceutical companies to influence co-promotion of the PLAC test. Build relationships with physicians and key thought leaders to influence the acceptance and use of the PLAC Test and to influence health plans to favorably cover it.  Maintain active relationships with key customer accounts and coordinate the relationship building efforts of the Regional Accounts Managers.  Work with the Marketing team to incorporate marketing strategy into the sales strategies.  Provide guidance within the sales organization and share best practices.

 BS in a scientific or related field required.  MBA is a highly desirable.  Requires 10+ years in selling diagnostics-related and/or pharmaceutical products in the cardiovascular field with demonstrated record of success.  Minimum of 5 years district/regional sales management experience with demonstrated record of success.  Proven ability to build infrastructure for sales team.  Strong leadership and motivational skills.  Self-motivated and detail oriented with previous working experience working in a fast paced sales environment.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  Experience working with clinical laboratories sales personnel preferable.  Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
