Research Associate — Synthetic, Organic Chemist

As part of the Drug Design and Optimization team, successful candidates will work closely with the laboratory manager in a collaborative environment. This position requires mastery of all techniques associated with modern laboratory synthesis, purification, and characterization (LCMS, NMR) of organic intermediates on a small and medium scale. Projects will vary and range from short to multi-step syntheses of compounds and will require consummate team playing.



Candidates must have a BS plus 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in pharmaceuticals/biotech or an MS degree, which includes at least 2 years of experience within an academic laboratory setting. Either or both degrees should be in Chemistry with a concentration in Organic Chemistry. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.

Successful candidates need to function effectively within multidisciplinary teams and possess outstanding communication skills. Candidates will have the opportunity to discuss scientific work with colleagues and present their results at standing Chemistry group meetings.
