Research Associate - Intracellular RA/91MON

THE POSITION

 

The major responsibilities of this position include assisting with the design, development, optimization and feasibility testing of new ELISA assays for apoptosis, cell stress and redox proteins.  Assist in troubleshooting and redesign of existing assays as needed. Assist with the characterization of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies using immunoblotting, ELISA and immunoprecipitation techniques.  Refer to pertinent literature on the expression and activation of specific proteins, as well as on new ELISA development techniques. Maintain clear notebook, produce data figures and perform calculations.  Work with an appropriate level of supervision and continue to develop problem solving and decision making skills.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Successful candidates must have a Bachelors/Masters degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related biological science or equivalent with 2 to 8 years of immunoassays development, antibody characterization and general lab experience with a Bachelors or 0 to 5 years with a Masters.  Experience in performing Western blots, immunoprecipitation, bioassays, or experience in tissue culture are a plus.  Must possess strong organizational skills and demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles.  Experience in independently designing and performing experiments and strong trouble-shooting abilities are desirable.
