A Pharmaceutical / Biotech client of ours is in need of a Research Associate to begin immediately.  The job description is below.

Salary: $16-22 (based on education and experience)

 

 

 

POSITION TITLE: Research Associate

DEPARTMENT: Research and Development

 

General Function:

Responsible for research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. Researches problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of factors having potential impact on results. With minimal frequency of supervision, design experiments to complete a segment of the overall project and incorporate experimental findings into design of future experiments. Integrate own data with those of others within the project team. With supervision, write and review product documentation. Present data to groups outside of R&D. Write reports covering several lines of experimentation. Work with personnel outside of R&D effectively. Train others. Perform other projects as directed.

 

Benificial Experience

Other responsibilities would be to synthesize, purify and characterize peptides for drug discovery research programs; and maintain and operate assigned instrumentation such as Symphony synthesizer, prep/analytical HPLC and LC?MS.

 

Education and Experience:

BS or MS in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology or related field with a minimum of one year (BS) or 0 years (MS) related research and/or development experience.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

Have substantial impact on overall project strategy and success by designing and analyzing laboratory experiments, integrating work of self and others, and performing other project work as directed. Manage own time to complete laboratory work, associated paperwork, and product documentation by required completion dates. Conduct all laboratory assignments in accordance with established safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements and, if applicable, ensure that direct reports meet the same requirements.

Receives general instructions on new assignments. Works with some degree of independence on new assignments.

Criteria for performance evaluation

Evaluation will be according to individual objectives, which will include milestones and performance specifications.

Quality and timeliness of work to effectively meet assigned milestones.

Regularity and quality of the communication to supervisor, R&D project team, and non-R&D groups.

Ability to work independently with consul from supervisor to accomplish overall project goals.
