SAP BW - Business Application Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY: Participate in analysis, development, testing and support of BW reporting initiatives within the organization, for FICO, APO, HR and/or MM/SD/PP applications
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Analyze and interpret existing reporting systems which utilize technologies including BW, Portal, SAP R/3, MS Excel, Visual Basic, and MS Access. Interface with various user departments to identify potential enhancement and improvement in processes using SAP BW.
? Understand the complexities and inter-linkages of existing reporting environment. Perform business requirement analysis, gap analysis, data model design, map standard business content to business requirement and develop custom extractors in SAP / objects in BW to enable flexible reporting in BW.
? Follow organizations standard procedures and processes to develop optimum solutions.
? Assists in defining BW project scope and objectives. Translate user requirements into technical details. Participate in BW Blue-print design, realization, final preparation, go-live and support.
? Provide quick and efficient BW support to user community.
? Participate in on-going BW initiatives.
? Assist in building SAP BW security roles.
? Complete the given work in timely manner.
? Prepare, conduct and assist in BW user training.
? Assist in other BW initiatives.
Education:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science.
Experience:
? Minimum three years of project experience in SAP BW Modeling, Extraction and Reporting using release 3.0 or higher with minimum two complete project life cycle experiences in SAP BW 3.0 or higher. Developed custom extractors and BW objects, extensively. Well versed with technique like process chain, load recovery, performance tuning, compression and aggregates.
? Demonstrated project experience, with BEx Analyzer and Web Application Designer tools a must. Experience with Microsoft Excel programming / VBA macros, web application development including HTML, JavaScript and BW reporting using portal a plus.
? Minimum five years of techno-functional experience in SAP R/3 (4.6C) or higher (ECC6.0 preferred), in Finance, Controlling, HR, APO and/or Sales and Distribution modules, with two complete project life cycle experience.
? Thorough knowledge of Finance, Marketing, HR, APO and/or Sales Distribution functions. Quickly understand reporting environment and to be able to apply previous experiences to improve the existing system and processes.
? Experience with Pharmaceutical industry.
? Familiarity with project development life cycle methodology a must ASAP preferred.
Licensure/Credentials:
SAP Certification in BW 3.0 or higher.
SAP Certification in any one module (preferably FICO, MM/SD, APO or ABAP).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
? Must have excellent understanding of SAP data structures and SAP BW technical architecture.
? Thorough knowledge of multi-dimensional data models and general data warehouse concepts.
? SAP R/3 Extraction techniques. SAP R/3 ABAP. Must know extractors development/enhancements.
? Excellent BW reporting techniques including VBA Macros within Excel-based BW workbooks. Expertise in BEx Analyzer and Web Application Designer.
? BW implementation for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Assets, SAP R/3 FISL reporting, Cost Center Accounting, HR, APO and/or Sales Distribution.
? SAP R/3 Report Writer, Painter, Sales Information System, a plus.
? Net weaver 2004S, BW 2004S, SAP BW 3.5, SEM-BPS, BW CRM, BW APO, desirable.
? SAP Security, SAP BW security, desirable.
