SAP Basic ? Security Specialist

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and helping with designing security across SAP Systems and applications, to meet the daily demands of the business. This will involve developing and configuring SAP roles using SAP profile generator, administrating and maintaining security across all SAP Systems and applications, creating and changing user profiles, and coordinating, documenting and reporting on investigations of possible security violations. Essential job functions also include supporting all systems in SAP landscape and performing SAP Security (may include basic Basis) administration and technical core competencies tasks including: SAP role creation and maintenance, user access assignment, system data security protection, SAP R/3 system monitoring, transport movement using STMS, applying Support Packages, installation of add-on software components, SAP profile parameter changes, etc.

 

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science and 5+ years of relevant industry experience, in addition to 3-4 years of SAP Authorization support experience and previous involvement in at least one SAP implementation project achieving production status. While Extensive Basis experience is not required, some experience would be a plus, along with the ability to provide backup support for our lead Basis Administrator (client copies, moving transports, applying OSS notes and deploying SAPGUI). Requires a strong understanding of the SAP R/3 and associated technologies and demonstrated Dell and HP/Compaq hardware and W2003 operating system knowledge. Experience in maintaining high productivity in an environment with aggressive deliverable dates is essential, as is expertise in interfacing effectively with mid-level management. Demonstrated ability to present SAP information to medium/large groups within the Business Systems Group is a must, as is the capacity to manage change and identify/adopt improved practices. The superior communicator we seek will have excellent organization and project-management abilities, strong negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to travel domestically as required.
