SCIENTIFIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM MANAGER

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This role plays an integral part in the Scientific Affairs team. As the inhouse liaison between the field Clinical Scientific Managers (CSMs) and the commercial/clinical organizations, this self reliant individual will serve as the operations manager for the team. Provides tools and information to the CSMs. Clearly communicates processes, sets timetables and executes project to ensure effectiveness. Requires superior writing and communication skills, strong program management and analytical skills, and familiarity with clinical education and marketing areas.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
- Liaise between clinical scientific and commercial organization
- Organize initial and ongoing training and developmental programs
- Coordinate CSM activities at key scientific meetings and other educational activities
- Maintain KOL and Contract Trainer database activities for the CSM group
- Represent the field CSM organization at internal meetings, per discretion of Director
- Central point of contact internally for administrative CSM issues
- Manage third party vendors utilized by Scientific Affairs team
- Assist with slide development and production for CSMs
- Assist in researching, writing, and editing special projects, literature rebuttal documents, etc. as requested by Director, CSMs
- Source clinical trial information and study summaries for CSM utilization in support of commercial objectives
- Maintain comprehensive and current document(s) for all published, scientific data for ADC in vivo products
- Attend and participate in national and regional scientific meetings/conferences
- CME management of credits with supplier
- Coordinate professional service HCP activities agreements as needed in accordance with OEC
guidelines

Allows the individual to comprehend and explain complex technical, scientific, clinical and marketing data with regards to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), insulin delivery systems, open/closed loop devices. Allows the individual to assess the validity of research articles, other CGM methods, technology, and market strategies.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required - Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: Master's Degree
Certification - Certified Diabetes Educator, RD or PA, PH.D, MD

Allows the individual to assess the validity of research articles, other CGM methods, technology, and market strategies.


BACKGROUND:
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
Minimum of 8 years (or combined) experience in:
-Program management
-Clinical research and statistical data analysis
-Health Care Management
-Medical Industry
-5 -7 years clinical experience required. Previous diabetes industry experience required. Experience in medical devices and pump therapy a plus.
-The ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate results with minimal supervision
-Excellent communication skills: oral, written and presentation
-Understand and communicate scientific/technical information
-Medical Terminology; ability to analyze medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific literature
-Computer literate. Proficient on Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
-Demonstrated organizational skills
-Ability to network in a corporate environment to obtain resources
