Sales Specialist - Hepatology - Dallas, TX

 SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Field-based professional responsible for effectively applying promotional and selling strategies while growing the Hepatology product base for VALEANT in the County/City, State territory. Provide medical and highly technical expertise to ensure awareness and appropriate use of products to designated specialty physicians, medical group practices, hospitals and other medical professionals.  Establish and maintain relationships with current and future opinion leaders within the Hepatology community. Interface with specialty pharmacies to facilitate use of company?s products. The Clinical Specialist will be measured on sales results as a member of a divisional team that will be responsible for contributing to sales regionally and nationally.

 

Specific Responsibilities Will Include:Provide current and comprehensive clinical/technical knowledge of the Hepatitis market and VALEANT?s products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the productsManage and develop territory budgets for customer contacts, promotional programs and other miscellaneous external expenditures. Analyze sales and market trends to effectively identify future business opportunities and build plans to address them Develop and maintain strong working relationships with VALEANT Marketing, Strategic Markets, Medical Science Liaisons and other VALEANT team members. Maintain extensive knowledge of Managed Care, GPOs, specialty pharmacies, State Medicaid and Veterans Affairs selling and reimbursement environment Daily activities include: one-on-one sales presentations to targeted physicians; arrangement of group selling programs; provide continuing education and value added services to physicians; and prepare and analyze market data in order to identify customer and market trends. Strong involvement in hepatology associations and societies. Expected to deliver promotional messages in support of product approved indication(s). Obtain information, resources, and support within VALEANT to maximize business opportunities and respond to customer needs. Utilize current computer systems (SFA, etc.) in planning, forecasting and reviewing sales activities to optimize resources for effective coverage and to meet productivity objectives. Provide timely and competent administrative management of work hours, sales call data, customer objectives, communication responses, synchronization, sample, and expense reporting.

 QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE5+ years of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical sales experience with a minimum of 3+ years of specialty sales is required Proven and documented track record of sales success with an ability to develop new business and customer relationships Sales experience in Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Virology or Oncology highly desirable Bachelors degree or equivalent is required with a Life Sciences concentration, advanced degree strongly preferred (MBA, MS, RPh or RN) Overnight travel may be required, including some weekends.
